In recent years there was significant development in mobile communication that causes smartphones become very popular. Most of the people nowadays, and in particular students and advisors, hold smart mobile devices, such as smartphone or tablet. As part of this development, there is extensive use in mobile applications that makes the content world much more accessible. Today, the electrical engineering department has projects management website, in which actions can be done by the type of the user.
The projects main goal is developing application and server for the department projects website, and by that making the website more accessible and available for all users, including: third and four year students, advisors and supervisors. By using the application, the users can do actions according to their permissions, as similar as is in the website. Students, for example, will be able to watch their grades online, get updates, register to the project conference and vote for posters. Advisors will be able to suggest projects, edit it, and upload grades.
The Application will contain the required functionality in high quality, will be user friendly and will combine new elements that will ease its use and maintenance.
The Project will be new application, implemented with new technologies, adjusted to the department needs. In addition, the application will have new screens for all users, in particular to the project supervisors, which did not exist before, and will combine image processing algorithms that will extend the application usage.
It will be implemented in Intel XDK development environment. This environment enables the application to work on several platforms without major code changes. The development in this environment is by HTML5 and JavaScript coding lan
guages. In this project, we will compile the application to IOS operating systems. These technologies will provide better support from the department computing division.
